HISTORY

Western Electric was founded in 1968 in Perth, Western Australia.
The sole business was the design and manufacture of special purpose A.C. and D.C. electric motors.
In 1980 the company commenced production of Exd motors.
In 1992 a Joint Venture was formed with a Singapore firm and Western Electric began marketing in the South East Asian region.
The company currently designs and manufactures motors in Australia, Holland and in its Joint Venture factory in China.
The majority of current business is in low voltage three phase motors.
There are now Western Electric sales offices and agents worldwide.
